Detailed Job Description:
RIT’s Information & Technology Services division is seeking a seasoned senior web programmer/analyst to join our Application Development team. This self-motivated individual, reporting to the Enterprise Web Applications Development Manager, will become an integral member of a dynamic team.

Establish and maintain strategic relationships with various business partners. Meet with partners,as necessary, to gather and/or clarify requirements associated with an assigned task. Develop appropriate documentation of analysis requirements, design specifications, test scripts, etc. Work with development team to define appropriate technical solution and, when necessary, coordinate implementation of solution. Leverage development experience when necessary. Test and implement new application components, such as reports, batch processes, data extract programs, data import programs, and general enhancements for institute-wide web applications, mobile applications and related application environments. Provide both technical and functional troubleshooting of software bugs and performance issues related to business partner applications. Follow department policies on the project management and software development lifecycle, source code control, and change management. Interface directly with end users, developers and other IT staff. Work effectively as a team member and individually.

RIT?s Information & Technology Services division is seeking a seasoned senior web programmer/analyst to join our Application Development team. This self-motivated individual, reporting to the Enterprise Web Applications Development Manager, will become an integral member of a dynamic team.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Required Experience:
• 5-7 Years hands-on experience with analysis, design, development, implementation and maintenance of web applications, mobile applications and databases is required
• 3-5 Years hands-on experience with configuration management methodologies is required
• 3-5 Years hands-on experience with Oracle, SQLServer or MySQL databases is required
• 3-5 Years hands-on experience with Java, PHP, SQL, SOAP or UNIX experience required

Required Skills:
Individuals interested in the Senior Web Programmer/Analyst position must possess the following skills:
• Strong communication skills(written and oral) with the ability to work directly with business partners and end users are required.
• Capability to facilitate meetings attended by business partners, technical staff and end user is required.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills are required.
• Ability to learn new technical,functional and business concepts relating to enterprise infrastructure services without formal training is required.
• Possess self initiative to be given general guidance on an objective and to achieve that objective with minimal managerial guidance is required.
• Ability to analyze a business problem and evaluate the impact of potential solutions from both a business and technical perspective required.
• Ability to present technical concepts in an appropriate manner that can be understood by business partners,technical staff, and end users is required.
• Experience with the software development lifecycle process, software quality assurance processes, source code control and change management required.
• Strong database driven application development experience is required.
• Significant experience with Java, PHP, SQL, SOAP, Unix or Linux is required.
• Significant experience programming web based applications using object-oriented programming techniquesis preferred.
• Significant experience with CSS,XML, XSLT or HTML is preferred.
• Experience with Apache Tomcat,C/C++, DHCP/DNS and/or Active Directory experience are preferred.
• Experience with or understanding of service-oriented architecture preferred.
• An understanding of the higher education environment is preferred.
• Experience with web services andJ2EE application servers a plus.
• Experience with application performance testing tools (JMeter) a plus.

Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred (Computer Science, Information Systems, IT, Software Engineering, etc.). Significant additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree or type of degree, and should include 7-9 years of related experience in programming and analysis on a variety of technical projects.
