Big Data and How it is Changing our Field
Bryan Grenn, Oracle

Big Data is coming to a Data Center near you! Bryan will give a background of why big data is becoming such the buzz around the industry. MAA on Exadata & Database Consolidation on Exadata
Ray Dutcher, Oracle

Ray will give a high-level on the Exadata Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA) configuration and note how it is designed to tolerate unplanned outages of all types, providing both high availability (HA) and data protection. Exadata MAA also minimizes planned downtime by performing maintenance in a rolling fashion. Finally an overview of database consolidation on Exadata with details on a project that included consolidating databases for Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Siebel, Oracle Peoplesoft and a data mart on to an Exadata quarter rack. These topics are intended to initiate an open Q&A discussion!

Ray Dutcher has been at Oracle 18+ years serving in Oracle Field Support, the Oracle Center of Expertise and since 1999 in the Server Technologies High Availability Systems group across various products. The HA Systems group covers the full technology stack and identifies, tests and documents MAA best practices across the stack. Ray has published and collaborated on numerous MAA projects and white papers and consulted with customers. The past 3 years he has been working on MAA Oracle Applications in Exadata environments projects.
