Oracle e-Business Suite (ERP) Developer (DIRECT)
We are looking for an individual that enjoys adopting new technology and functional skills as they develop innovative solutions using the latest tools available for Oracle e-Business Suite integration. The job will require the developer to enhance and extend the existing e-Business Suite implementation using standard methods supported by Oracle. They will also need strong communication and analytical skills to work closely with our end users to gather requirements and propose solutions that are extendable and reusable. The ability to establish and maintain relationships with customers and other members of the team is critical.
In addition to their other duties, this individual must be able to wear multiple hats within the team and write technical documentation, document user requirements, perform QA of other team members’ deliverables, research Oracle functionality, work with Oracle Support to resolve issues, recommend and test Oracle patches, and troubleshoot production issues. This person will also be expected to maintain existing reports, forms and programs to support the current implementation.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field preferred
Experience
- 5-7 years of programming and analysis experience with a variety of technical projects.
- A minimum of 2 years developing solutions integrated with Oracle’s e-Business Suite R11i or higher.
Required Skills
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Solid skills in Oracle 8i or higher, SQL*Plus and PL/SQL
- Ability to use Oracle approved methods of customizing the e-Business Suite application
- Functional knowledge of at least one Oracle e-Business Suite module
- Technical understanding of the data model across a variety of modules
- Strong communication skills (written and oral) including:
o Ability to work directly with business partners and end users
o Ability to present technical concepts in an appropriate manner that can be understood by business partners, technical staff, and end users
- Ability to analyze a business problem and evaluate the impact of potential solutions from both a business and technical perspective
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle, software quality assurance, source code control and change management processes
- Self initiative to accomplish an objective given general guidance without requiring detailed managerial oversight
- Ability to learn new technical, functional and business concepts without formal training
- Ability to work individually or collaboratively with other team members
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Oracle e-Business Suite’s HR, Payroll or Financial modules
- Experience extending or personalizing self-service within the OA Framework
- Experience with HTML, XML, Java or Web Services development
- Experience with Oracle Discoverer, Oracle ADI or BI Publisher
- Understanding of common business processes surrounding the use of Oracle’s e-Business Suite
- Understanding of higher education environment
